Regency Club

Reviewing the REGENCY CLUB!

As I stepped into the Regency Club in Queensbury, north-west London, I was immediately enveloped by a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly combines the vibrant flavours of Indian and Kenyan cuisine.

Established in 1991, this family-owned gem began its journey as a private members’ club and has since expanded to welcome everyone. The spacious layout features a relaxed bar area, a sports screen, and a dining room that exudes a charming library feel, making it a perfect place to unwind.

The menu is a delightful blend of dishes, and I was particularly excited to try their famous chilli mogo, which I had heard so much about. For starters, I ordered lamb samosas, tarka dal, chicken mari masala, jeera rice, and tandoori. The excitement in the air was palpable, and as I looked around, I noticed the lively atmosphere filled with happy diners enjoying their meals.

When the food arrived, the aroma was simply intoxicating. The lamb samosas were home-made, bursting with a fresh mint flavour and a spicy kick from the chilli that made them irresistible. As I took my first bite of the garlic Mogo, I was taken aback by the perfect balance of saltiness, chilli, and garlic. It was truly addictive, and I can see why everyone raves about it!

Moving on to the main courses, the tarka dal stood out with its creamy texture and robust garlic flavour. Each mouthful was a revelation, and the hint of ginger elevated it to another level. The jeera rice, with its delightful mix of cumin and heat from the chilies, was the perfect accompaniment to the rich and flavourful chicken mari masala, which featured a spicy black pepper sauce that left me craving more.

As I savoured each bite, I couldn’t help but appreciate the exceptional quality of the ingredients and the skill evident in each dish. It was a memorable meal that left me feeling satisfied yet eager to return for more.

The restaurant also offers a fantastic lunch special for just £15, which includes a starter, main course, two sides, and a drink – an incredible value for the quality provided. With an experience this good, it’s no surprise that I’m rating the Regency Club a solid 9.5 out of 10. I can’t wait to visit again, and I encourage you to try it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!

I LOVED it! 9.5/10
