The International

I Review BRADFORD'S #1 CURRY HOUSE!

During my visit to The International in Bradford, I was immediately taken by the lively atmosphere and elegant decor. It’s a bustling spot, with the restaurant quickly filling up, a clear sign of its popularity.

For starters, I chose the onion potato bhaji, a new dish for me, and it didn’t disappoint. The texture was spot-on—crispy and light—while the combination of onion and potato offered a subtle, hearty flavour. Paired with a refreshing mint sauce, the dish had just the right kick without overwhelming the palate. The sauce added a creamy layer of freshness, making it a perfect start to the meal.

For the main course, I opted for the International Special Karahi, a dish combining chicken, lamb, and prawns cooked in a spicy, aromatic sauce. The meats were tender, each infused with the rich flavours of the sauce, making every bite a delightful experience. The balance of heat was just right—enough to be bold without overpowering the dish. The lamb balti I also tried had a deep, comforting richness, enhanced by fresh coriander and a hint of lemon. The tender lamb practically melted in the mouth, while the sauce offered a perfect balance of spices, making it an unforgettable dish.

I accompanied these with pilau rice and plain naan, both of which complemented the rich curries beautifully. The naan was soft and fluffy, ideal for scooping up the aromatic sauces, while the pilau rice added a subtle, fragrant note that rounded off the meal nicely.

The only minor downside was that I felt the portion of lamb in the balti could have been slightly larger. However, the incredible flavours and textures of the dishes more than made up for this. You all know I love my lamb by now!

Overall, I was highly impressed by the quality of the food at The International. From the crispy onion bhaji to the flavour-packed curries, everything was cooked to perfection. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. I’d happily recommend this place to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in Bradford. I’d rate it a solid 9 out of 10.

I LOVED it! 9/10
