Hawksmoor Air Street

Reviewing HAWKSMOOR'S EXPENSIVE £50 BREAKFAST!

I recently had the opportunity to indulge in a lavish £50 breakfast at Hawksmoor, a treat that’s back on the menu after a four-year hiatus. As I stepped into the classy interior, the laid-back atmosphere immediately welcomed me.

The breakfast for two is quite a hefty price tag at £50.00, but it includes a generous spread of mouth-watering items: smoked bacon chop, a sausage, black pudding, hash browns, grilled bone marrow, trotter baked beans, fried eggs, grilled mushrooms, roast tomatoes, HP gravy, and toasted sourdough. I couldn’t wait to dive in, especially at the thought of trying unique dishes like grilled bone marrow and the trotter baked beans.

As the food arrived, the presentation was stunning, with hot, perfectly plated dishes and an offer of unlimited sourdough toast—definitely a highlight for anyone who loves bread. I started my tasting journey with the Northern Irish black pudding, and I was thrilled by its rich flavour and smooth texture. The sausage, too, was delicious, bursting with flavour and fragrant herbs, although I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of disappointment at the small portion size.

One of the standout items was the bone marrow. Described as soft, spongy, and nutty, it brought an exciting new twist to breakfast. The trotter baked beans, while lacking a bit in juice, offered a wonderful pork flavour that was hard to resist. I also enjoyed the roast tomatoes and the HP gravy, which paired beautifully with the sausage. However, I did think the portions of bacon and sausage felt a bit stingy for the price.

The bacon was divine, with a lovely sweetness coming from the sugar pit they cook the chop in and perfectly cooked to deliver a delightful smokiness. Enjoying it with the HP gravy felt like perfection on a plate. Throughout the meal, I could tell that the quality of the ingredients was top-notch. The combination of sausage, bacon, black pudding, bone marrow, and beans made for a truly satisfying experience. Even my cameraman couldn’t stop raving about the mushrooms!

After the breakfast, I felt pleasantly full—not bloated at all—reflecting on the fantastic quality of the ingredients and the unique offerings. I even bumped into a few subscribers who shared their positive experiences, and we couldn’t help but compare the breakfast to something you might find at Harrods.

While the bill was high, I felt it was justified by the quality and overall experience. So, I’m happy to rate this breakfast an eight out of ten. I encourage you to visit Hawksmoor and share your thoughts. Just remember, this breakfast is only available on Saturdays in two branches, so don’t miss out!

I LOVED it! 8/10
