Bread Street Kitchen & Bar, The City
Reviewing GORDON RAMSAY'S £19 BREAKFAST!
I visited Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen branch in the City, not too far from Moorgate station. After many previous unsatisfactory visits to Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants, I was hoping for much better today. However, I can already tell you, if you are not a fan of loud music then this definitely isn’t the place for you.
I ordered the Full English breakfast which included sausage, bacon, tomato, mushroom, baked beans, hash brown, scrambled eggs, toast (£19.00), the Smashed Avocado which came with sourdough bread (£14.00) and their English breakfast tea (£4.25).
Unfortunately, I had to send the poached eggs back as they were overdone, the full breakfast itself was disappointing with the highlight being the scrambled eggs. Bacon overdone, sausage was very basic and the rest of the ingredients on the plate were not worth the price paid. Was it worth £19? I don’t even think it was worth £10. The tea was your standardized English breakfast tea, nothing special and nothing to complain about either.
The star of a pretty terrible show was without a doubt the service. The manager removed the tea, service charge and the smashed avocado with poached eggs from the bill so the overall cost of the meal came to £19 which was for the incredibly mediocre full breakfast.
Total cost: £19.00
Star of the show: Service.
Would I recommend it? No.
Hmmm 3/10
