LA Cafe

The BEST CAFE I've Ever REVIEWED!?

If you’re looking for a café that truly elevates the dining experience, let me take you on a journey to La Cafe. After a disappointing visit to Sutton in the past with Taco Bell, I was thrilled to give this spot another chance, especially after one of my subscribers Lee highly recommended it. With over 900 reviews boasting a five-star rating, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to see what the hype was all about.

Walking into La Cafe, I was immediately struck by its modern and relaxed atmosphere. It’s clear that this café, celebrating its third anniversary, prides itself on unique menu offerings. The signature breakfast and daily specials caught my eye, promising a delightful culinary adventure.

I opted for the signature breakfast, priced at £14. It featured a delightful medley of pork sausages, streaky bacon, French butter scrambled eggs with white truffle sauce, Heinz beans, roasted vine tomatoes, and toasted bread of the day… not quite your usual breakfast but that’s fine by me.

When the breakfast arrived, the presentation was nothing short of stunning. The aroma wafting from the plate made my mouth water. My first bite of the pork sausages revealed an explosion of flavour, bursting with herbs that made my taste buds dance. The scrambled eggs, creamy and soft, were elevated by the subtle richness of the white truffle sauce. Each forkful was pure indulgence.
Next up was the streaky bacon, which was perfectly cooked to achieve a crispy yet juicy texture, devoid of any excess fat. I’m not usually a massive fan of streaky bacon as most places seem to overcook it. It’s evident that the chefs at La Cafe pay great attention to detail. Even the sourdough toast and Heinz beans stood out, offering quality that left a lasting impression without harshness on the palate.

The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the 28-day short rib, priced at £26. This dish was beautifully presented with a vibrant assortment of parsnips, vine tomatoes, Portobello mushrooms, and a bed of kale, cabbage, peas, and Parmesan. The short rib itself was incredibly tender and bursting with flavour, complemented by a simple yet effective gravy that enhanced the overall dish. The sweetness of the maple-flavoured parsnips added an unexpected delight to the meal.

As I reflected on my dining experience, I couldn’t help but appreciate the dedication of the local owner in creating such an exceptional atmosphere and menu. Yes, the prices are on the higher side, but every bite reassured me that the quality of the food justified the expense. This is your elevated cafe experience!

In conclusion, La Cafe is more than just a café; it’s a bistro that focuses on elevating the culinary experience. I am thrilled to award La Cafe a perfect 10 out of 10 for its exceptional quality and unique offerings. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend you treat yourself to a visit—you won’t be disappointed!

WOW! Top marks 10/10!
