Jollibee’s
Reviewing JOLLIBEE'S UK!
I recently visited Jollibee’s in Leicester Square, a popular Filipino fast-food chain making waves in the UK. To be honest, I was a bit sceptical about trying fast food again, given my previous experiences. But the buzz surrounding Jollibee’s intrigued me, and I decided to give it a go. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich, chicken joy, loaded fries, pineapple juice, peach mango pie, Jolly spaghetti, and a hot dog, hoping to discover something special.Walking into the restaurant, I was struck by how busy it was. The lively atmosphere of Leicester Square was echoed inside Jollibee’s, with a constant hum of chatter and laughter filling the air. As I waited for my order, I couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and anxiety, hoping the food would live up to the hype. Finally, I collected my order and found a quieter spot to unpack my meal.
I began my tasting adventure with the Jolly spaghetti. The first bite was a delightful surprise—the sweetness of the sauce perfectly complemented the sausage pieces. Although I personally prefer meatballs, the spaghetti was a comforting dish that I enjoyed immensely. Next, I dove into the spicy chicken piece, and wow! The juiciness and flavour were phenomenal by fast food standards, reminding me why I had come here in the first place. I also tried the loaded fries with sriracha sauce, which were surprisingly tasty and added a nice kick.
Then I turned my attention to the chicken sandwich. While it was spicy, I found it a bit dry compared to the other items. Adding gravy helped elevate its texture and flavour, but it wasn’t my favourite. Unfortunately, the hot dog was a letdown; it felt mediocre and didn’t hold a candle to the delicious chicken and spaghetti.
As I savoured the last bites, I saved the spicy chicken piece for last, relishing its crunchy coating and juiciness. I found myself considering ordering a lunchtime special next time, which includes chicken, fries, and spaghetti—all for just £3.89! The prices for individual items ranged from £1.19 to £1.59, making it an affordable treat.
To finish my meal, I indulged in the peach and mango pie, and it did not disappoint. Its flavours reminded me of McDonald’s apple pies, but with a tropical twist that was simply delightful.
Overall, my experience at Jollibee’s exceeded my expectations. I can confidently say it’s a better fast food option compared to KFC and Popeyes. I’m giving it an 8 out of 10 and wholeheartedly recommend you try the spaghetti, chicken, and loaded fries while avoiding the hot dog.
I LOVED it! 8/10
