James Martin Manchester

Reviewing JAMES MARTIN'S CASINO RESTAURANT!

In this review, I decided to pay James Martin Manchester a visit, a restaurant located within a casino. Despite the unexpected setting, the dining experience was anything but ordinary. The focus here is squarely on the food, and it didn’t disappoint.

I started with the spiced onion bar, a dish that immediately grabbed my attention. The crispy onion, paired with a creamy cheese sauce, was a delightful surprise, balanced perfectly by a subtle hint of spice. James Martin is known for his love of using a lot of butter, I wonder how much was included here! It was rich, indulgent, and very satisfying. The golden raisins and fresh coriander added layers of flavour that worked together beautifully.

For the main course, I chose the canon of Yorkshire lamb, a dish that certainly lived up to its reputation. The lamb was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. It came with roasted vegetables, each bite more flavourful than the last, and a luxurious truffle mayonnaise that elevated the whole dish. The preserved lemon and basil on the side added a refreshing contrast, cutting through the richness and providing a nice balance to the flavours.

Dessert was a must, and I couldn’t resist the sticky toffee pudding. This classic dessert was executed flawlessly, with a rich, buttery sauce that soaked into the sponge and a scoop of creamy ice cream to top it off. It was a perfect end to an already impressive meal.

The atmosphere at James Martin Manchester was stylish and comfortable, offering a relaxing environment to enjoy such fine food. Despite being located within a casino, the setting didn’t take away from the dining experience at all. The service was attentive, and the staff made sure every detail was taken care of.

Overall, the food at James Martin Manchester exceeded my expectations. From the surprising spiced onion bar to the perfectly cooked lamb and indulgent sticky toffee pudding, each dish was a standout. While the casino setting might not be for everyone, the food and service make this restaurant a great choice for those looking for a memorable dining experience. A nice treat in a celebrity restaurant for a change!

I LOVED it! 8.5/10
