Reviewing POLISH FOOD For The FIRST TIME!
Recently, I had the pleasure of trying Polish food for the very first time at a bustling restaurant that has quickly become popular in the area. I decided to get here earlier than usual as I was unaware how busy it would be and noticed that few people were even queuing outside before I entered!
I started my meal with the vegetable soup, a delightful concoction featuring peas, potatoes, carrots, and fragrant herbs. At first, the soup struck me as a bit thin and watery, with a subtle flavor that left me wondering. However, as I continued to sip, I found it to be surprisingly tasty and healthy. Its natural essence was refreshing, and I appreciated that it didn’t require any additional seasoning to bring out its taste.
Next came the highlight of my meal: the pierogi. This traditional Polish dumpling was a revelation! I was served five beautifully plump dumplings, paired with a generous dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of crispy fried onions. As I cut into the first pierogi, the sweetness of the dough paired perfectly with the well-seasoned beef filling, creating a burst of flavours in my mouth. The juiciness and richness of the filling were simply outstanding, and I found myself savouring each bite, relishing the home-made quality that made these dumplings truly special. I will admit, the presentation left a little to be desired but overall, I was completely satisfied. Real hearty food!
As I looked around, I noticed the restaurant was packed, with people eagerly waiting outside for a table. This popularity is a testament to the delicious food they serve. However, the busy atmosphere also highlighted a need for more staff during peak times, as the service slowed down a bit amidst the hustle and bustle. Despite this minor setback, I felt the overall experience was well worth it.The set menu, which included the soup, pierogi, a fresh salad, and dessert, was incredibly reasonable at just £12. I couldn’t believe the value for money, especially considering how delightful each dish was. When I added up my total bill, which came to £37.58, I felt content with what I had enjoyed.
In the end, I rated my experience an impressive 8 out of 10. The food was fantastic, and I left with a newfound appreciation for Polish cuisine. I am eager to return and perhaps try some more dishes on their menu. I encourage you to explore this delightful cuisine as well; it truly offers a taste of something unique and comforting.
I LOVED it! 8/10
