On a beautiful sunny day in New Malden, South West London, I had the pleasure of visiting Nora Lebanese Restaurant, and I must say, I was truly astonished! Known for its high ratings, my expectations were high, especially after enjoying another exceptional Lebanese meal recently.

As I approached the restaurant, the exterior immediately caught my eye, but stepping inside was a revelation. The beautiful seating area, inviting bar, and even a large TV created a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The menu was extensive, offering a delightful variety of options for all dietary needs, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free dishes. I couldn’t help but feel excited as I browsed through the choices. I decided on the hummus beiruti, fried cauliflower with tahini dip and cumin, and a shawarma sizzle featuring both lamb and chicken.

From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccable. The staff greeted me with genuine warmth and attentiveness, making me feel right at home. After ordering water, I received helpful recommendations, leading me to confidently choose the hummus beiruti and shawarma sizzle. When the food arrived, my anticipation reached a peak.

I started with the fried cauliflower, and it was everything I hoped for. The light, non-greasy texture was beautifully complemented by the flavourful coating, while the tahini dip provided a delightful burst of garlic and lemon. It was truly delicious! Next, I turned my attention to the shawarma sizzle. The presentation was stunning, and as I savoured the dish, I couldn’t help but appreciate the tenderness of both the lamb and chicken. The mix of bell peppers and onions, alongside the fluffy bread, created a harmonious balance of flavours that enhanced every bite. The bread played a crucial role in soaking up all the delicious juices, making each mouthful a joy.

Finally, I couldn’t resist trying the hummus beiruti. The combination of herbs, chilli, and olive oil, coupled with the smooth texture of the chickpeas, made for a delightful experience. I also loved how the dish included pickles, adding a nice contrast to the meal.

To finish off my dining experience, I chose the Mouhallabieh for dessert—a Lebanese panna cotta dessert drizzled with orange blossom and rose water syrup. It looked stunning, and its creamy, rich texture was perfectly complemented by the hint of orange. The crunch of the pistachio topping added an exquisite touch to the overall lightness of the dessert.

As I wrapped up my meal, I felt a deep sense of satisfaction. While the total bill was £46.65, I wholeheartedly believed it was justified given the remarkable quality of the food and the attentive service. I’m delighted to award Nora Lebanese Restaurant a perfect 10 out of 10. I urge you to visit this gem of a place; I promise you won’t be disappointed!
